March Blog - Skating at the Stable

Have you ever wondered what’s next for your young skater? Or where to go once your child completes a level? This month, we are focusing on the amazing skating classes and opportunities that the Blue Sport Stable offers.

The Blue Sport Stable believes that everything we do starts with a strong foundation, and for us, that foundation is skating!

Our Learn to Skate program doesn’t just help skaters who are stepping onto the ice for the first time - it is a place where a lifelong love for skating begins through confidence building and essential skill development that will help skaters move on to the next level. Whether a child dreams of playing hockey, figure skating, or just simply learning a new and challenging skill, Learn to Skate is perfect for creating proper skating fundamentals.

We believe that great athletes aren’t made overnight. They are created through patience, encouragement, and structured progression. This is exactly what the Learn to Skate program strives to do: give athletes the balance, edge control, coordination, and strength they need in order to safely and successfully advance into hockey or figure skating programs.

Our aim is to create a community for your child that helps ensure they have a positive first experience on the ice. It’s important to teach them resilience after a hard fall or particularly challenging skill; to celebrate progress no matter how small. These are the moments that shape not only better skaters, but more confident individuals.

… So what comes next?

If you and your child are ready to take the next step, we recommend our JR Rider Hockey Program. It is designed for athletes who are looking to advance into competitive hockey and eventually join Boulder Hockey Club when they are ready.

The JR Riders Hockey classes build on the skating fundamentals that are taught during Learn to Skate and introduce skills such as puck handling, game awareness, teamwork, and other essential hockey skills. What’s more is that it’s all in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.
